Premier Proteins (2000) Ltd. is a rendering company that has been in operation in Ballinasloe Co. Galway since 1952. We employ 45 people directly and approximately 70 indirectly.

Rendering is a method whereby animal by products are safely and efficiently processed into Meat and Bone Meal (MBM) and Tallow. It is one the oldest recycling techniques in the world. We also treat and dispose of many other types of non hazardous organic materials.

The Premier Proteins (2000) Ltd. facility at Ballinasloe has an annual capacity of 130,000 metric tonnes.

The products, meat and bone meal and tallow, can be used as carbon neutral fuels. They are mainly used in activities such as power generation, cement manufacturing, steel smelting and steam raising boilers.

The facility at Ballinasloe has been an innovator within the industry since commencing operations and has changed and adapted to improve and comply with changing legislation.
